Welcome back to our “Eat Your …” series where we recommend delicious and versatile food that you can add in your day-to-day meals.

Today, we will recommend something that you can snack on – Walnuts! Having a healthy snack filled with good nutrients is a much better way to maintain a healthy diet as compared to actual dieting. Your body needs the nutrients especially after giving birth, so feed it with good nutrients. Here are 3 reasons why you should consume Walnuts.

1. Good Calories & Good Fats

Walnuts are rich in good calories, but the energy absorbed from nuts is lower than expected based on their nutrients. It also has good fats in them which will help to repair and heal your body from the inside. This will accelerate your healing period.

2. Mood Booster

Walnuts are filled with omega-3 fatty acids which are crucial for the development and function of the Central Nervous System (CNS). The CNS will affect your mood. If impacted negatively, you may have mood swings and may even cause anxiety, paranoia, depression, etc. Consuming walnuts may impact the CNS positively which is why some people do appear to have improved mood after eating walnuts.

3. Fuller For Longer

Walnuts are also fibre rich which will help make you feel fuller for longer. This translate to: Walnuts is a great snack to manage/lose weight!

Nuts in general are good for your health, unless you’re allergic to them in which we recommend you stay away from nuts! If you’re breastfeeding and have been consuming nuts but your baby is reacting badly, your little one may be allergic to nuts. We want the best for you and your little one. If nuts don’t work for you, there are always other foods that you can consume. 💛
