In our previous Dream Letter, we’ve recommended a delicious superfood – Salmon! We are back to recommend another yummy superfood – AVOCADO!
Avocados are filled with good fats, fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Here are 3 benefits of fresh avocados!
1. Good source of fiber = Feels fuller for longer
Avocados are a good source of fiber. Fiber helps regulate the body’s use of sugars which in turn helps to keep you feel fuller longer. This will lessen the chances of you overeating. Adding fiber to your diet will also help with your digestive system and prevent constipation. Apart from that, fibers can also help reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
2. Fat soluble vitamins for you (and your baby if you’re still breastfeeding)
Avocados are filled with fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin E and K and water-soluble vitamins like Vitamin B and C. These vitamins won’t be lost even if you cook the avocados. They are also a sugar-free fruit option and safe for new mummies.
3. Healthy fats
Our bodies require fat intake. Since consuming fat is unavoidable, consuming the healthier and better fat is the way to go. Avocados are packed with exactly that - unsaturated fats. With this healthy and good fat, avocados can act as a nutrient booster when combined with other foods. Because of this, your body will also be able to better absorb all the nutrients that you are consuming.
